Since the arrival of ANTOINE DESROSIERS in Nouvelle France in 1641, the Desrosiers family settled everywhere on american continent. They are one of the great french families in Canada's country.
The most majority of the Desrosiers descendants are concentrated in Quebec. Others are elsewhere in Canada and even as far as Alaska. During the migrations of second half of XIXe century, several families of Desrosiers fled famine to work in manufactures of New England. Some go back before dying. For others, they are the little children who return on our premises. That complicates genealogical search somewhat to establish the lines.
American of California, Alfred-William DeRosier, had opened a site on Desrosiers in the United States. According to him, its ancestors would came to Louisiana directly from France. Probably, there are no link with Antoine Desrosiers of Trois-Rivieres. His website is : http://derosier.info/.
