ORIGINE FRANÇAISE DES DESROSIERS

As mentioned in webpage about life of Michel Desrosiers, there will be 300 years in 2009 that this man is signalled to Rimouski .

In article «UNE SEIGNEURIE EN BOIS DEBOUT» on page 33 of June 1997 issue of the Revue d'Histoire du Bas-St-Laurent, Mrs. Beatrice Chasse mentions that in mars 18, 1710, Louis Lepage de Sainte-Claire, son of  Seigneur Rene Lepage, was going before notary Chambalon at Quebec to make an accord with the owners of ship La Hollande concerning the recovery of the goods escaped in the shipwreck on November 20, 1709. Michel Desrosiers got bark with others resident of Rimouski (Jean Auger dit le Basque, Étienne Brault dit Pominville, Michel Dufresne, Guillaume Fortier, le seigneur Lepage and his sons).

According with Georges Desrosiers, in his notebook Les Desrosiers dans le Bas-St-Laurent au XVIIIe siècle, Michel Desrosiers (Dutremble) would be settled about 1710-1711 on land "about 200 meters on west of wharf of Rimouski" in seigniory of Rimouski.

If Michel Desrosiers dit Dutremble wouldn't be settled on land before 1710, we can say he is in Rimouski en 1709 without high risq of error.
